Fair Fun!

Thursday night we (my mom, and two of my brothers, Ben and Caleb) were able to go the fair that is held twice a year in kingman. It was actually a lot of fun.

And although Randy was not able to go with us, we didn't forget him, especially when we saw all his buddies! They actually had an aquarium there full of sting rays that we were able to pet. It was so neat. They feel just like a slimy fish. The barbs had been taken out of their tails so they were safe to pet. Caleb thought it was so cool to be able to pet them. Ever since Randy was stung he's been very curious about these creatures.

They had a real barb from a sting rays tail on display. It was bigger than it looks in the picture.

My camera battery died half way through our trip so unfortunately we weren't able to take very many pictures.

Our Garden is going great!

It's fun to watch the progress of our garden and see just what we can grow. Right now we have tomatoes, cantelope, squash, zucchini, peppers and avocado (still small trees) growing. It's been our best gardening year so far.

Marco really did it this time!

I think these pictures are pretty self explanatory. This morning our neighbor knocked on our door and said that our cat was hiding under there rose bush and was covered in cactus. Sure enough! I went over there and Marco looked absolutely miserable. He was covered from head to toe in cactus. I felt so bad for him. He had a huge piece stuck to his side and prickles all throughout his body. Luckily Randy came home with in a few minutes for lunch and was able to help me get the main big ones out.

Marco was such a good sport about it. Even though he was in a lot of pain and was bleeding quite a bit he still managed to purr through part of it. I think he knew we were there to rescue him.

I have not been able to get all them out yet but when Randy gets home were going to work at it together. He hasn't wanted to leave his carrier at all today. I feel so bad for him but I think he's going to be alright. I'll keep you updated I'm sure =)

  2. WOW what an ordeal! That is so cool that you guys have avocado trees and cantaloupe! One day you'll have to make me an avocado version of freezer jam... I guess that would be some kind of guac. Yumm.

  3. Poor Marco! He's too cool of a cat to be in so much pain. But I guess that's what happens to a curious cat.
